Young writers awarded and remembered

Express Media's annual awards recognise that while they may be young, Australia's newest writers and editors are bright, talented and full of empathy.

Last night Australia’s newest and brightest storytellers, editors and innovators were celebrated at Express Media’s annual celebration of young people in writing and media.

Presented were the The John Marsden/Hachette Australia Prize and the Scribe Nonfiction Prize, alongside recognitions for outstanding work across Express Media’s publications.

The Outstanding Achievement by a Young Person in the Literary Arts Award was jointed presented to Ellen Van Neerven (QLD) and Chloe Higgins (NSW). This inaugural award recognises outstanding achievement across any area of the literary arts, be it creative writing, non-fiction, journalism, poetry, editing, publishing, playwriting, screenwriting, comedy writing, game writing or radio.
