Thanks to the digital revolution, anyone with a computer and an internet connection can publish a book and unleash it on the global marketplace.

Online sales now account for a huge percentage of book retailing: in romance (the highest selling of all book genres) it accounts for a whopping 90% of all sales. This has levelled out the playing field and made indie publishing into a billion dollar industry. It’s competitive and full of pitfalls, but for the lucky few there can be huge rewards.
