Indigenous children in remote and very remote locations are significantly under-performing compared with non-Indigenous students and those living in metropolitan locations. Between 40% and 60% of Indigenous children in locations across Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory are achieving below minimum standard in reading in Year 3.
