Kids protest loss of book award

Young writers appeal to the Premier's intrinsic human values as they protest the downgrade of the WA Premier's Book Awards and protect their future.

Earlier this year it was announced that the prestigious WA Premier’s Book Awards was to be shifted from an annual tradition to a biannual event, the cut saving the State Government about $65,000.

Since the literary community voiced their unhappy reactions, disappointment has rippled through the WA community, with Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers’ Centre (KSP) seeing an immediate effect on its young writers.
