Delivering the annual Hector Crawford address at the Screen Producers Association conference this week, one of Australia’s most successful producers said current industry structures were making it harder for new talent to break in.

John Edwards’ credits include The Beautiful Lie, currently screening on the ABC,  the TV series Gallipoli, Puberty Blues , Offspring, The Secret Life of Us  and Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo. His productions have won 29 Logie Awards, 30 Australian Film Institute Awards, nine AACTA Awards, four People’s Choice Awards (Australia), eight ASTRA Awards and his TV movie On The Beach is the only Australian production to have received two Golden Globe Award nominations.
