Black Diggers wins Premier’s Reconciliation Award
Queensland Theatre Company and Sibelco Australia just took out the top gong – the Premier’s Reconciliation Award – at ​this week’s Queensland Reconciliation Awards, for the critically acclaimed production, Black Diggers.
Sue Donnelly, QTC Executive Director said, ‘for the last four or five years we’ve really been building on reconciliation and we truly believe in the power of stories to change the world. Black Diggers was a project that came about as we knew the WWI centenary was coming up and we wanted to uncover untold stories. When we first started the show we knew of about 800 stories – there’s now about 1500 stories that have come to light.’
