More work but no more income: the writer’s lot

While technology has altered the publishing and writing landscape and broadened opportunities, when it comes to writers' incomes not much has changed. A new report hopes to offer insight and influence policy.

Technology is giving writers new opportunities and an increased workload as they use blogs, experiment and share their work on public forums.

But incomes remains unchanged and there are new challenges, including piracy, a study on the Australian book industry has found.
